Allison Gross, MT-BC, NMT Fellow graduated from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA) with a Bachelorís degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Music Therapy. She then completed a 7-month Music Therapy internship in the Lawrence Public School District in Lawrence, KS.
After the completion of her internship, Allison moved to Arizona, passed her board certification exam, and began practicing Music Therapy professionally in April 2006. She worked providing in-home services to children and adults with a wide range of developmental disabilities, funded by the Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities. In October, 2008, Allison attended the Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute through the Center for Biomedical Research in Music at Colorado State University. She attended the NMT Advanced Fellowship Training in February 2011, and is now a Fellow in the 'Robert F. Unkefer' Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. Allison is passionate about learning the effects of music and rhythm on the brain and applying this to her practice.
In June 2010, Allison started her own private Music Therapy practice, Changed By Music, LLC. She loves finding creative ways to channel the power of music and make a difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families.
